Georgia overview : energy and environmental technologies and services

GEORGIA: OVERVIEW ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES AND SERVICES

Georgia boasts an abundance of renewable natural resources such as pine trees and agricultural products, as well as waste streams from industrial processes.
These sustainable biomass sources provide the feedstock for a growing renewable energy sector. Bioenergy is projected to contribute nearly five billion dollars to Georgia's economy over the next 10 years. The state's cleantech sector is rapidly expanding and is based on ground-breaking research, new technologies and advances in production processes. Advanced manufacturing in Georgia supports cleantech industries such as solar, wind, advanced energy storage systems, and energy management systems. Georgia's Center for Innovation for Energy helps Georgia companies commercialize energy and renewable related products and services.

Industry Highlights
#1 in the USA for commercial timberland capable of supplying feedstock for the bioenergy industry.
#3 in the USA in biofuel potential in the USA. Upon completion, biomass-to-energy projects in Georgia represent a combined $1.8 billion investment.
