The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) is delighted to host more than 3,000 internationally-owned facilities operating in Georgia. The GDEcD recognizes the value and importance of the many international executives who move to Georgia in order to manage these business operations.
The GDEcD developed the International Business Liaison (IBL) program in order to smooth the transition for management and their families relocating from outside the U.S. to Georgia. The IBL custom integration services are available to companies that are investing or creating jobs in Georgia.
When moving to Georgia, international executives can benefit from the support of the IBL to surmount the challenges of emigration and receive key information that will ease their transition. Topics covered include:
Obtaining a social security number Opening a bank account How to get a credit score or establish credit history Applying for a driver's license Schools and the American educational system Real estate Medical care Immigration and visa issues Taxes Insurance Setting up utilities Purchasing/leasing cars American culture/differences Pet relocation Freight forwarding Tourism opportunities Connecting with your home country's community in Georgia Other items as needed
