GEORGIA WORLD CONGRESS CENTER
UNVEILSARTPROJECT IN BUILDING C
Walking through the Georgia World Congress Center, you'll gaze at its modern design and awe-inspiring architecture. Now, a new art project in the Congress Center's Building C unveils even more to look at in the convention center.
Deck the Halls Students from Bethune Elementary gaze at the photos during the unveiling of the Bethune Gallery. The gallery is located in Building C Level 3 overlooking Bethune Elementary.
Five oversized stretch canvases - some as large as 30-feet wide - are spread throughout Building C featuring architectural photographs of the Georgia World Congress Center campus, which includes the Georgia Dome and Centennial Olympic Park. These photos bring color to the Congress Center while highlighting the unique campus. They also serve as directional landmarks while traveling through the facility.
A major portion of the art project in Building C is the Bethune Gallery, located in an alcove overlooking Bethune Elementary School. Last spring, the entire fourth grade class was invited to the GWCC, where they each received a camera, a few tips on photography and a first look at the future home of the Bethune Gallery. Over 800 photos were then taken and a special

GWCC Gets a GRIP on
L o n g Te r m R a t e s W i t h N e w Guaranteed Rate Inflation Protection (GRIP) Program
GET A GRIP The GRIP Program offers a unique way for tradeshow organizers to get ahead of escalating rates with rate protection at the Georgia World Congress Center.
AT A GLANCE, THIS NEW PROGRAM OFFERS: Unique, long-term rate inflation protection
F O R T R A D E S H O W C U S T O M E R S who may be interested in committing to dates five or even 10 years from now, but are concerned about escalating rental rates, the Georgia World Congress Center now offers a unique rate protection program that helps customers get a grip on long term rates and encourages shows to grow, but doesn't penalize slow growth.
The GWCC will base its future rate per net square foot on an escalation pace equal to the rate show managers charge their exhibitors. That's right the GWCC guarantees not to increase its rates at a rate faster than a show increases its rates. For example: if over the next 10 years a show increases its rate by only 5 percent, the GWCC's rate will increase by only 5 percent.
While some shows will exhibit slower growth, the GWCC anticipates many shows will see great growth in the coming years and they are protecting those customers with a maximum rate increase of 3.5 percent per year regardless of the show's growth.
Long-term future net square foot rate GUARANTEED NOT TO EXCEED the rate show managers charge exhibitors and GUARANTEED to increase no more than 3.5 percent a year
If the rate management charges exhibitors grows less than 3.5 percent a year, the GWCC will REDUCE ITS RATE to match
"We understand the importance of being able to project a budget for a show many years in advance," said GWCC Executive Director Dan Graveline. "We also realize many variables that affect a show's size. Attendance and exhibitor participation can be volatile in today's economy. This new program protects the show from high rate increases in the event of slow growth, while at the same time protecting them from exponential rate increases... even if they experience exponential growth."

CONGRESS CENTER CAMPUS
SPOTLIGHTED on TV and in Print Advertisements
When it comes to coordinating a variety of memorable events, the Georgia World Congress Center campus is top of the line. But
what many people don't know about the facilities is that they have
appeared in several national commercials.
The Georgia World Congress Center has hosted several photo shoots over the years. Most recently the Congress Center's International Plaza was featured in a Honda motorcycle print. The 6-acre plaza was the backdrop for an ad featuring the Honda Boulevard motorcycle at dusk.
The entrance concourse of the Georgia World Congress Center and all of its vastness makes it an ideal spot for a variety of commercial shoots, including Delta Airlines, which converted the building into a futuristic airport terminal to highlight the multiple amenities of the Delta Skymiles program.
Some of the greatest gridiron matches have occurred on the field of the Georgia Dome. But, there's more to the Dome than football frenzy! Commercials, videos and movie shoots are no strangers to the facility. Ready for the Michael Vick experience? The quarterback's high flying, quick flippin' style was captured in a recent Nike ad that features his style as a roller coaster ride on the football field. Look closely - this ride is digitally generated on the field of the Georgia Dome!
Georgia Secretary of State Cathy Cox and Robert Garza both recorded Public Service Announcements for the State of Georgia and the American Diabetes Association respectively. Fox Sports Net created a circus atmosphere on the field for a recent video shoot. Merck Pharmaceuticals used the Dome as backdrop for former head coach Dan Reeves to advertise Zocor. Perhaps the largest undertaking was the production of the movie Drumline a Hollywood hit about college band competition. Stadium competition scenes were shot right here at the Dome!
People the world over have grown to know and love Centennial Olympic Park as a gathering place for cultural fun and artistic expression.

" The support we received from the City of Atlanta, the wonderful service we enjoyed at the Georgia World Congress Center and the dedicated crews at our many fine vendors speaks to why Atlanta continues to be our favorite place to produce a show. You and your team are to be commended for a fine effort. Once again, thanks for helping make Artexpo Atlanta and DCOR Expo Atlanta a great success. We look forward to doing it all over again with you next year!" Eric Smith Vice President International Art and Framing Group
" The accommodations were perfect... I know that the Georgia World Congress Center will be my first consideration for any future events that I may plan and it will be highly recommended to anyone that I know who needs a location for an event. Thank you so much for everything!" DeBorah Hargrove 25th Anniversay Chairperson South Fulton Running Partners

You and your staff did a fine job of serving us. While TAPPI may roam the world, the Congress Center and its people are special for us. We look forward to returning with SuperCorr Expo in November. Until then, my thanks and best wishes."

" The show was a smashing success--due in great part to the wonderful, committed service of you and your staff. Not only were we extremely satisfied as the producers of the show, but the results are in from our exhibitors and attendees -- from all accounts this was the BEST show the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) has ever had! Please be sure to thank everyone involved in our event and on behalf of JBS Associates and the SCAA. We can hardly wait for 2009 when we return! In closing, the care, the commitment to excellence and the superb service provided by you and your staff was unequaled. Thank you for making this a memorable event."

Fivequestions New chef heats things up in Terraces kitchen
Chef Joshau Hill is the new head chef at Terraces, the Georgia World Congress Center's flagship restaurant. Terraces features a menu themed `Global Flair, Southern Taste.' It uses fresh, local ingredients and creates comfortable foods with lots of style. It is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the trade show floor.
1. IF YOU WEREN'T A CHEF, WHAT WOULD YOU BE? I would be a teacher of culinary arts because being able to pass my knowledge and passion for food has always been a dream of mine.
2. WHO IS YOUR TOUGHEST CRITIC? My father and grandmother. My father told me he did not care what I did in life as long as I was the best I could be. My grandmother was the one who taught me how to cook.
3. WHAT WAS THE MOST EXOTIC DISH YOU EVER PREPARED? I would have to say wild game. Growing up in the South, I hunted a lot and cooked a lot of deer, duck, geese and rabbit. I've also cooked ostrich, antelope, buffalo and elk.
4. WHAT IS AN UNEXPECTED PAIRING OF FOOD THAT REALLY WORKS? Waffles and savory foods. I really enjoy making shrimp scampi and waffles. I make an herbed waffle and top it with the sauted shrimp in an orange beurre blanc pan sauce. To finish it, I crumble ginger snap cookies in the sauce - it really complements the shrimp very well.
5. IF YOU COULD HAVE ANYTHING IN THE WORLD FOR DINNER TONIGHT, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE, AND WHAT WINE WOULD YOU HAVE WITH IT? I would have whole grain mustard, garlic and black strap molasses encrusted rack of lamb with whipped sweet potatoes, patty pan squash and fresh green beans. My wine would be a nice glass of 1997 Silver Oak Cabernet.

The entertainment business has cashed in on this legacy as well. From commercials to photo shoots, the Park is rapidly becoming an ideal location for photographers and producers to create their masterpieces. With the Park as a backdrop, any project instantly gleams Atlanta, Georgia, USA!
Some recent projects include Georgia Secretary of State Cathy Cox's commercial shoot at the ring fountain about investment scams. In early October, the Rough Riders, a motorcycle organization, shot their calendar in the Park. Chick-fil-A used the Park as a backdrop for a customer service training video. The Atlanta Film Festival used the Park as a workshop location for still photography
and SIBOS, an international convention held at the Georgia World Congress Center in October, shot footage from the Park to be used in a presentation during their convention. CNN's Inside Politics produced a live airing of the show from the Park. Additionally, local news affiliates broadcast daily weather highlights straight from Centennial Olympic Park.
No matter how you look at it, the Georgia World Congress Center, the Georgia Dome and Centennial Olympic Park are not only popular event sites, they are also prime settings for commercial and photo shoots because of their photogenic backgrounds.

family entertainment, great concerts and interactive entertain-
ment. Your next event in Atlanta can take advantage of the unique
setting offered at this downtown urban oasis. From fun runs to fundrais-
ers to fireworks, the Park offers the perfect setting for memorable events. Organizers of fun runs and fundraisers view the Park as a great place
to gather participants to start an event. Another memorable event was organized by Weight Watchers and the American Cancer Society. Approximately 1,350 health enthusiasts gathered at the Park to step to the scale in what may have been the world's largest simultaneous weigh-in. Runners and walkers with philanthropic hearts and Peachtree Road Race dreams also came to the Park for the annual Run for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Light the Night, a walk in which Leukemia and Lymphoma supporters gather in cities nationwide, also began in the Park with over 3,000 participants.
Fourth of July at the Park is the pinnacle of patriotic fun every year! With thousands of visitors, fireworks, cameras and action, this celebration has quickly become an Atlanta favorite. In addition to a massive firework show, guests enjoy music from a variety of bands and America's favorite snacks and foods. Why not close your convention or meeting with a reception on the Park's Great Lawn with a spectacular fireworks display that lights up the downtown sky.
Fun runs, fundraisers and fireworks more ways that Centennial Olympic Park provides exciting events and a venue for good cause. To learn more about hosting an event in the Park, visit www.centennialpark.com or call (404) 222-PARK.

Dedicated to the One I Love Georgia Dome partners from the Bank of America Atlanta Football Classic, the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl participated in the unveiling of the new Georgia Dome mini-museum.
Mini-Museum Display Commemorates Atlanta's Football History
The Southeastern Conference, Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl and Bank of America Atlanta Football Classic left their mark on Atlanta football history with the opening of a new permanent museum-style display in the Georgia Dome Sept. 23.
The mini-museum, located near the Dome's Gate E, is the first of its kind in the facility, which has been the home of the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl and Bank of America Atlanta
Football Classic since 1992 and the SEC Football Championship since 1994. The three-part permanent display features event histories, photographs and a collection of memorabilia from all three annual events. The museum is open to the public and is included on official Dome tours.
On-hand for the unveiling were Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl founder George Crumbley, Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl President Gary Stokan, Associate Commissioner of the Southeastern Conference Brad Davis, Chairman of the 100 Black Men of Atlanta Robert Haley and Executive Director of the 100 Black Men of Atlanta, John Grant.
Plans are underway to develop an Atlanta Falcons museum in the Dome similar to these mini-museums with artifacts and memorabilia from the Falcons history.
FALCONS FEVER RISES AT THE GEORGIA DOME
Academics define fever as a condition of heightened activity or excitement, but Falcons fans are redefining the meaning as the Falcons continue a phenomenal season. Travis Tritt, an Atlanta-area native, recently wrote and performed at half-time "Falcons Fever" in honor of the team and diehard fans. "I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Falcons fan," said Tritt. "I believe this song represents the crosssection of football fans who bleed red and black every Sunday at the Georgia Dome."

ART IN BUILDING C
This season, the team has dominated the NFC South and Falcons fans can't get enough! Game day at the Georgia Dome is a football fans' dream as thousands arrive early. But they haven't forgotten their history. The Atlanta Falcons Ring of Honor was unveiled at the halftime of the Sept. 19 game against the St. Louis Rams. The Ring of Honor pays tribute to retired players who made significant contributions to the Atlanta Falcons during their playing careers. The inaugural inductees are former Atlanta Falcons RB William Andrews, QB Steve Bartkowski, LB Tommy Nobis and LB Jessie Tuggle. During the 2003 season, long-time Falcons season-ticket holders nominated a group of players they would like to see inducted into the Atlanta Falcons Ring of Honor. The nine players receiving the highest number of nominations were then placed on a ballot for Falcons fans to cast their votes.
The fever is also felt at the Falcons Landing, where fans come to enjoy interactive games, concerts, more food and prizes. Located next to the Dome, the Landing offers all sorts of excitement for every Falcons fan prior to every home game. Face painters are always swamped with rowdy fans looking to get their game face sprayed on before rushing to their seats now that's fever!
