Work on the Budgets Continues
The Conference Committee on the Amended Fiscal Year 2008 Budget met today to continue its deliberations.
Meanwhile, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Higher Education, chaired by Rep. Bob Smith, heard a Fiscal Year 2009 Budget presentation last Wednesday and is scheduled to meet again on the budget this Tuesday.
The Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Higher Education, chaired by Sen. John Wiles, is scheduled to meet on the FY09 budget March 25. 1

Session Scheduled Through Day 35
Only nine days remain in the Georgia General Assembly's 2008 session. The legislature is in recess today, but will be back in session Tuesday through Thursday, days 32-34 of the 40-day session.
Thursday, March 27, will be Day 35, allowing time during the week leading up to it for committees to do their work on the Amended Fiscal Year 2008 and Fiscal Year 2009 budgets, as well as other legislative matters.
