Frank Leo The People V.
GPB highlights the Georgia criminal case that rocked American history with two special programs about the 1913 murder of 13-year-old Mary Phagan, a child laborer in an Atlanta pencil factory, and the trial and lynching of Leo Frank, the Jewish factory supervisor accused of her murder. Shot in Atlanta, PBS's The People V. Leo Frank is followed by The People v. Leo Frank: A Georgia Roundtable
featuring a Georgia Historical Society discussion that examines the role played by former Georgia governor John Slaton and others involved in the case, and the ongoing controversy surrounding Frank's guilt and 1986 pardon.
