PROVIDING GAcollege411 STATISTICS, SIGNIFICANT RECENT DEVELOPMENTS, AND UPCOMING EVENTS.
College Goal Georgia 2012
College Goal is a statewide volunteer program that provides free information and assistance to students and families who are applying for financial aid for postsecondary education. Created in Indiana with funding from the Lilly Foundation and the Lumina Foundation for Education, the College Goal program has grown to more than 40 states and the District of Columbia. Managed by the YMCA, this program has assisted hundreds of thousands of students with completing their financial aid applications throughout the US. The Georgia Student Finance Commission and various host locations have proudly participated in College Goal Georgia. This year, we are happy to announce that there were 13 host locations in Georgia with more than 900 families benefitting from this program. Over 140 volunteers offered their time and expertise to assist students fulfill their dreams of higher education.
As we look to the future, we hope to increase the number of host locations and volunteers, as well as the number of FAFSA's completed. If your school would like to be a host location, please feel free to contact us at clientservices@gsfc.org.
Thank you to everyone who participated and made this program a huge success!
