GAcollege411 Highlights

December 2007

GAcollege411 news: On Wednesday January 9th, the GAcollege411 Working Group met at for their 2nd quarter meeting of 2007-08. The agenda was full and very informative. Several items were discussed such as Transcript Exchange & SURFER updates, Electronic Transcripts Update, and Site Changes and Enhancements to the GAcollege411 homepage. GSFC Customer Service, Client Services and USG also provided updates. The information conveyed at this meeting was very informative and spirited. Thank you to all of our members!
Transcript news: In November and December 2007, GSFC representatives for Transcripts Exchange and GAcollege411 staff provided Transcript Exchange training in Macon, Valdosta and Acworth. These meetings addressed the ability of high schools to submit admission transcripts electronically to colleges and universities throughout the state as well as uploading and sending transcripts for HOPE calculations. The trainings were well attended by school counselors, and district representatives. Over 400 persons attended representing over 50% of the high schools in Georgia. A focus group was formed to discuss concerns shared at these meetings. From that group, three additional trainings were held in January at regional ETTC locations that offered hands on live trainings. The presentations of these meetings can be found in the Transcript Exchange Documentation Library.
Reminder: The deadline for preliminary HOPE calculations is Friday February 15, 2008.

Enhancements to the GAcollege411 website
