National Night Out, America's Night Out Against Crime, began in 1984 in effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camarad-
erie and to send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. National Night Out program culminates annually, on the first Tuesday of Au-
gust.

This year, the nation celebrates the 30th Anniversary for the National Night Out. The Columbus Probation Office joined the over 37 million neighbors across 15,000 communities in celebration of this year's National Night Out.
"Being a part of this night was important for the community and the officers because it shows that making a difference is not just locking up the bad
guys, but spreading the message and information to the community so that they can partner with law enforcement to collaborate together to keep the community safe," said CPO Christina Parker.
