PSC To Hold Public Hearings on Georgia Power Company Rate Case
Atlanta, August 3, 2010 -- The Georgia Public Service Commission (Commission) will hold a series of public hearings throughout the state on the Georgia Power Company request for an increase in its current retail rates. The public hearing schedule is as follows:
August 18, in Macon, Georgia, beginning at 6 p.m., Bibb County Commission Board Room, Bibb County Courthouse, 601 Mulberry Street, Room 407;
August 31, in Savannah, Georgia, beginning at 6 p.m., City Hall Council Chambers, 2 East Bay Street, 2nd Floor Council Chambers;
September 22, in Rome, Georgia, beginning at 6 p.m., Rome Civic Center, 400 Civic Center Drive; and
October 4, in Atlanta, Georgia, beginning at 6 p.m., Commission Offices in Room 110, 244 Washington Street, S.W.
At each public hearing, the Commission Staff will present an overview of the rate case filed by Georgia Power Company followed by an opportunity for the public to make their views known.
The Commission will make a final decision in this case at its regularly scheduled Administrative Session on December 21, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Any new rates would take effect January 1, 2011.
