PSC Receives Notice of Disconnection of Successor to Buzz Telecom
ATLANTA, April 27, 2007 Qwest Communications Corporation (Qwest) has notified the Georgia Public Service Commission (Commission) of its intent to suspend the account of Ultimate Medium Communications Corporation effective midnight on April 30, 2007. Ultimate Medium Communications Corporation has been providing long distance service to some Georgia customers under the name of UMCC Holdings, Inc.
Neither Ultimate Medium Communications Corporation nor UMCC Holdings, Inc. is certificated to serve customers in Georgia. The Commission's investigation of the events that led to the transfer of former Buzz Telecom customers to this uncertificated carrier is still underway.
Consumers who are being billed for long distance calls by UMCC Holdings, Inc. should immediately contact their local phone company for assistance in selecting another long distance carrier. Additionally, consumers should not pay phone bills from UMCC Holdings, Inc.
