Preventing Youth Violence and Cyber Bullying
Health and child advocates are working together to shed light on an unsuspecting public health topic - youth violence and cyber bullying.
While parents, teachers and community leaders are still working together to reduce instances of school bullying, modern technology has given life to a new wave of electronic bullying happening through social media, text or instant messages, email, chat rooms and websites.
Violence in school and cyber bullying is a growing public health problem that impacts thousands of young people. Youth violence can be the result of past exposure to violence, impulsiveness and lack of conflict resolution skills. Regardless of the reason, too many young people are experiencing violence every day.
