The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) is pleased to expand its team of exceptional public health professionals with the addition of Stephen Goggans, M.D., MPH, as the new district health director for its East Central Health District. Beginning in January 2015, Dr. Goggans will oversee DPH's operations throughout all 13 counties within its East Central region.
"We look forward to welcoming Dr. Goggans to the Department of Public Health," said Brenda Fitzgerald, M.D., DPH commissioner. "His extensive insights in health care innovation, performance improvement and community partnerships will complement existing initiatives in our East Central Health District while continuing to strengthen our district and county operations."

experience to DPH having held leadership
