Super Museum Sunday is February 6
To spotlight Georgia's fascinating past, more than a dozen State Historic Sites are offering free admission this Sunday, February 6. The event is part of Georgia History Festival's statewide celebration of "Super Museum Sunday." Visitors can translate the Cherokee Nation's first newspaper, admire FDR's hand-controlled roadster, walk in the footsteps of Civil War soldiers, or learn about our nation's first gold rush. Find even more places to step into the past at GaStateParks.org.
Annual Passes Available Online
Did you resolve to explore more in 2022? Annual passes not only save you money, they also encourage you to discover new getaways throughout the year. With our Historic Site Annual Pass, you can learn to make blow darts at Etowah Indian Mounds or pretend to be a Revolutionary War soldier at Fort King George. If fishing or hiking are your favorite outing, grab an Annual ParkPass that provides free parking at Cloudland Canyon, Magnolia Springs and more than 40 additional state parks. Equestrians can even get their own pass for horseback riding trails. Buy passes online or in park offices.

Winter Wind-Down
Off-season February is a great time to take advantage of last-minute getaways and absent crowds. Parks that are normally booked far in advance, like Fort Mountain, Skidaway Island, Vogel and Red Top Mountain (shown here), often have cottage availability on the weekend. Bundle up for heart-healthy hikes, then snuggle up next to a toasty fire. Most cabins come with fireplaces or wood-burning stoves, plus many are dog-friendly. Fully equipped kitchens mean you can enjoy morning coffee from your own porch. Find your perfect winter getaway on GaStateParks.org.
Spring Break Staycations
This spring break, get the kids out of the house and into the outdoors. Join the Canyon Climbers Club and your family can earn a certificate for exploring four of the most scenic state parks in Georgia. The newly published Passport lets your track your travels from mountains to marshes. Geocaching gets you sleuthing for hidden treasures. Find the perfect family adventure, plus campsites, yurts and cabins, on GaStateParks.org.
