NPS guidance on energy efficiency and historic buildings
The National Park Service has revised its Preservation Brief #3, originally published in 1978. "The new brief incorporates input from leading experts in building science, engineers, and historic preservation professionals and offers guidance on making informed decisions about energy efficiency improvements to historic buildings." Renamed "Improving Energy Efficiency in Historic Buildings," the updated version was co-written by Jo Ellen Hensley and Antonio Aguilar, who worked at HPD as a preservation architect in the 1990s.
