greatly needed "seed" money for preservation projects all across the state. Due to the current economic situation and its resulting impact on the state budget, the Georgia Heritage appropriation was cut for SFY 2009 and SFY 2010. This year, 16 applicants requested $257,645 to help preserve the state's historic resources. The support of the preservation community, evidenced in a very tangible manner through tag sales, enabled 4 of these worthy projects to be funded.
A very big THANK YOU to all who have purchased tags. Please continue to promote the preservation license plate in your community. Sales are increasing, and, as a result, more of Georgia's special places will be helped.
