2009 Preservation Awards
Each year, The Georgia Trust recognizes significant contributions to the preservation of Georgia's historic resources. The awards are open to projects completed within the last three years.
The Georgia Trust is now accepting nominations for the following:
Restoration - Awards in this category recognize exemplary restorations of historic buildings or landscapes. A restoration project accurately returns a building or landscape to an earlier condition and appearance based on historical or physical evidence.
Rehabilitation - Awards in this category recognize exemplary rehabilitations of historic buildings or landscapes, including compatible new additions. A rehabilitation project preserves significant portions and features of a building, including historic changes, while making possible an efficient contemporary use.
Stewardship - Awards in this category are presented to long-term owners who are ensuring the preservation of historic properties through care and maintenance, stabilization or protection.
Preservation Service - Awards in this category are presented to persons, groups, publications, businesses and government entities that demonstrate exemplary activities and promotion of awareness in the field of historic preservation. The scope of the work associated with nominees may be of local, regional or statewide importance.
