USS/CSS Water Witch discovered!
Last week, specialists from Georgia DNR, Georgia DOT, and the National Civil War Naval Museum joined together with Tidewater Atlantic Research archaeologists to locate the remains of USS/CSS Water Witch, a Civil War gunboat used by both the US and Confederate navies.
Kudos to HPD's Deputy State Archaeologist-Underwater, Chris McCabe; State Archaeologist, Dave Crass; and the other expert professionals involved!
