Recent National Register listings
The following properties were listed in the National Register of Historic Places during April 2006.
Acworth's Downtown Historic District, Cobb County - The nomination was sponsored by the city of Acworth Historic Preservation Commission and the nomination materials were prepared by a consultant. Similar to many small Georgia towns, Acworth was founded with the construction of a railroad during the first half of the 19th century.

Dalton Commercial Historic District (boundary increase and additional information), roughly centered on Hamilton Street and bounded by South Thornton Avenue, Seaboard and Southern rail lines, and Morris and Hawthorne streets in downtown Dalton, Whitfield County - The nomination was sponsored by the City of Dalton. This boundary increase and additional information increases the boundaries on the north, east and west to include historic commercial buildings mostly constructed from 1938 to1955. This documentation also reevaluates each building in the existing historic district.
Gospel Pilgrim Cemetery, located on a nine-acre site east of downtown Athens, Clarke County - The nomination materials were prepared by the Regional Development Center's Historic Preservation Planner on behalf of the owners, the City of Athens/Clarke County, and the East Athens Development Corporation, who support the nomination. It served as the Athens area's principal cemetery for African Americans from 1882 until the 1970s, while other towns and cities had municipally owned ones.
Mandeville Mills & Mill Village Historic District, located west of downtown Carrollton, Carroll County - The nomination was sponsored by Carroll Tomorrow and the mill owners and was supported by the property owners. Nomination materials were prepared by a consultant and the sponsor organization. The mill complex, which began to develop in 1900, consists of several buildings and structures that were constructed over time to adapt to the evolving nature of the mill.
