NEH grants
Through the We the People initiative, National Endowment for the Humanities encourages applications that explore events and themes in our nation's history and culture. For the upcoming Nov. 3 application deadline, NEH especially seeks projects that use anniversaries of key events as opportunities to encourage public reflection on American history (e.g., the upcoming bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln's birth in 2009 and the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown in 2007). For information about planning or scripting grants, read more: http://www.neh.gov/grants/guidelines/tvplanning.html. For information about production grants, read more: http://www.neh.gov/grants/guidelines/tvproduction.html
For its upcoming Nov. 1 deadline, the Endowment's Scholarly Editions program invites proposals to digitize and publish in electronic form existing completed print or microfilm editions, or completed series within larger projects, such as presidential papers. Eligible publishers, libraries, the scholarly projects themselves, and other organizations with the necessary permission to publish may seek funding to employ appropriate technologies to prepare and publish these new digital editions.
