Ossabaw Island Education Alliance names new program coordinator
In early 2004, the Ossabaw Island Education Alliance was created with a vision to make the island a nationally recognized education program focusing on many disciplines. The Alliance includes the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Ossabaw Island Foundation (TOIF), the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia (USG) and a committed group of public and private university educators, scientists, citizens, community leaders and individuals. The Alliance recently hired Dr. Paul Pressly, of Savannah, to serve as the Program Coordinator for this ambitious initiative.
As Program Coordinator, Mr. Pressly will be responsible for the design and management of the education and research programs on Ossabaw Island. One of his primary goals will be to work as part of a collaborative team to make the island available for use by for a variety of disciplines and stakeholders. You may contact Paul Pressly at 912- 651-2005 or ppressly@ossabawisland.org. Visit http://ossabawisland.org for more information.
