2005 State Preservation Conference is just two weeks away!
Don't miss the 2005 State Preservation Conference, held in conjunction with the Georgia Trust's annual meeting, March 31-April 3 in Thomasville. Come for educational sessions on Friday or spend the whole weekend exploring Thomasville's historic resources.
John Nau, chairman of the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, will be the keynote speaker.
Session topics include: neighborhood revitalization insuring historic buildings 250 years of architectural styles and building types in Georgia funding options for rehabilitating historic properties Georgia's historic courthouses heritage tourism Georgia's historic schools how local historic districts are established and how they work downtown revitalization Life at Greenwood Plantation: The Landscape, the People, the Stories field

HPD staff news
Tiffany Tolbert is the Georgia African American Historic Preservation Network's (GAAHPN) new intern. She is a first-year graduate student in the Georgia State
University Heritage Preservation program. Ms. Tolbert completed her undergraduate degree in history and political science at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama. She will be specializing in African American programs, and can be reached at tiffany_tolbert@dnr.state.ga.us or 404/657-1054.
