February 23-26 (last Wednesday through Friday), DNR (including HPD) experienced problems with our computer server. This caused disruptions to our work including the ability to produce a February 21-25, 2005 edition of Preservation Georgia Online. New Publications on HPD's Web site
The February issue of Reflections, the quarterly newsletter of the Georgia African American Historic Preservation Network, is now available on the HPD Web site at http://hpd.dnr.state.ga.us/content/displaycontent.asp?txtDocument=46 This issue features articles about the preservation of Gospel Pilgrim Cemetery in Athens and Lithonia's African American cemeteries.

NPS's Women's History Month site features Macon architect
The Ellamae Ellis League House in Macon is a featured project on the Women's History Month section of the National Park Service Web site. The photos used online were taken by HPD photographer, Jim Lockhart.
Located in the Shirley Hills neighborhood northwest of downtown Macon, Georgia, the Ellamae Ellis League House is the self-designed residence of accomplished Georgia architect Ellamae Ellis League (1899-1991).

Kennesaw Mtn. on 2005 list of Most Threatened Civil War Battlefields
The Civil War Preservation Trust has named this year's 10 most endangered Civil War battlefields: Bermuda Hundred, Virginia; Franklin, Tennessee; Kennesaw Mountain, Georgia; Knoxville, Tennessee; Manassas, Virginia; Mansfield, Louisiana; Morris Island, South Carolina; Raymond, Mississippi; Spotsylvania County, Virginia; and Wilson's Creek, Missouri. 2005 Outstanding Archives Awards Program - Each year the Georgia Historical Records Advisory Board (GHRAB) recognizes the best of the best: outstanding local governments, historical societies, libraries, museums, universities, school systems, courts, and other organizations that care for historical records; outstanding researchers, students, teachers, and people who advocate for historical records. GHRAB has ten different award categories, so someone you know or a program you know about is sure to fit. You can apply for yourself or nominate another person or program. Environmental Resources Management (ERM), a global environmental consulting and engineering firm, has full-time positions open for an Architectural Historian who meets all standards as set by the Secretary of Interior for work under Section 106 and NEPA compliance. The Augusta Museum of History is seeking a full-time, professional executive director with a passion for history. The museum is a private, non-profit, 69,000 square-foot regional history museum located on the Riverwalk in downtown Augusta, Georgia. The museum also manages the historic house museum, 1797 Ezekiel Harris House. The museum employs a staff of 15 full and part-time employees. It has an active membership of over 800. The successful candidate will possess the following skills and characteristics: strong background in historical institution (museum, house, etc.) management; excellent organizational skills; ability to work effectively with local government; proven short- and longterm strategic planning skills that are innovative and future focused; ability to create synergy in volunteer and staff relationships; capacity to maintain strict quality standards while embracing creativity and flexibility; strong work ethic with enthusiasm and dedication to step into multiple roles. The successful candidate will meet the following requirements: Master's degree in museum studies, American history, or other related field or equivalent experience. A minimum of 6 years management experience is preferred. Proven fundraising, financial/budgetary management, grant writing and marketing skills are essential. Excellent public speaking, interpersonal communication and writing skills are required.
