Small local history museum with staff of two seeks highly motivated individual as curator. This individual will be responsible for collections, educational programming, and exhibits. Coastal Heritage Society orchestrates battlefield purchase
According to the February 2004 Georgia Battlefields newsletter, Coastal Heritage Society (www.chsgeorgia.org) has announced their purchase of Spring Hill Redoubt, the focal point of the Revolutionary War Battle of Savannah. The Society has held the goal of saving this site for 36 years and negotiated the purchase for the past 8 years. Credit is also due to Norfolk Southern, previous owner of the land, and the City of Savannah.

Rosenwald Schools information
The National Trust for Historic Preservation has created a Website (www.rosenwaldschools.com) and booklet to promote understanding and preservation of the country's Rosenwald Schools. The National Trust will provide one complimentary
copy per person of Preserving Rosenwald Schools by Mary S. Hoffschwelle. The booklet includes an overview of the history of the Rosenwald School building program, case studies of Rosenwald School preservation projects, and a bibliography. PBS's "History Detectives" is back for a second season of investigating history's mysteries and are looking for stories all over the USA. Their team of experts will set out to answer questions about: artifacts recently discovered whose history is unclear; historic buildings whose rich past may not be fully known; and family heirlooms with a mysterious past. Collegiate Architecture Competition
Entry forms for the National Park Service's annual Peterson Prize collegiate architectural measured drawing competition are due by May 31, 2004. Teams or individual students of architecture (or related fields) with faculty sponsorship are eligible to compete. Participants are required to produce a set of measured drawings to HABS guidelines and standards. Journal of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era Invites Manuscripts
The Journal of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era invites manuscripts from members of the Society of Architectural Historians (SAH) on any aspect of architectural history in the United States between roughly 1870 and 1920. Published by the Society for Historians of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era, this is the only journal specifically devoted to this formative period in American architecture. Illustrated articles are certainly welcome.
