FITZGERALD'S BLUE & GRAY MUSEUM
Newly renovated and completely redesigned, the Blue and Gray Museum celebrates the Civil War veterans who founded the City of Fitzgerald in 1896. The museum is housed in the old baggage room of the AB&A RR depot. There are two signature objects, a mantelpiece and a reception desk, that were salvaged from the landmark Lee-Grant Hotel in Fitzgerald

(demolished in the 1960s) where the museum had its first displays. www.fitzgeraldga.org/hist2.mfr.html

The Chieftains Museum / Major Ridge Home in Rome recently dedicated the "Gaynelle Parrish Grizzard Center for Cherokee Studies". The opening of this multi-use facility is the culmination of a renovation and adaptive reuse project conducted on one of the two mill supervisor homes on the Chieftains Campus. The "Grizzard Center" will be used to support the museum's mission of interpreting Cherokee History and Culture. www.chieftainsmuseum.org
