HPD NOW ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS FOR 2003 STATE STEWARDSHIP AWARDS
The purpose of the State Stewardship awards program is to recognize outstanding leadership and achievement in historic preservation stewardship of state-owned or administered properties. Nominees must be current state employee(s) who have made significant contributions to the identification, evaluation and preservation of historic properties either owned or otherwise administered by the state or affected by state projects. The nominees' contributions may be local, regional or statewide in scope. Significant contributions may include, but are not limited to: rehabilitation of historic buildings, survey and research, preservation plans, maintenance and upkeep of historic properties, publicity and outreach programs, education and interpretive displays, publications, etc. The focus of the awards is to honor the achievements of state employee(s) in furthering the preservation of Georgia's historic properties. GEORGIA WOMEN'S HISTORY INITIATIVE
The Georgia Women's History Initiative of the Historic Preservation Division is attempting to identify all the extant women's club buildings in the state. If you have a building that was affiliated with the Georgia Federation of Woman's Clubs, please contact Leslie Sharp at sharpl@mindspring.com. It would be helpful to include name of the local woman's club, the city/community and county where it is located, and any other history or information about the building or club that might be helpful. The following is a list of the clubhouses that the project has identified so far.

NTHP NOW ACCEPTING EDUCATIONAL SESSION PROPOSALS FOR 2003 CONFERENCE
The National Trust for Historic Preservation (NTHP) is accepting proposals for educational sessions at the 2003 National Preservation Conference in Denver, Colorado, September 30 October 5.
