PEACHTREE STREET DOCUMENTARY PREMIERES ON GPTV
"Peachtree Street: Take Another Look," the latest Georgia Legacy special from GPTV, premieres on Atlanta's Channel 8, Tuesday, March 12 at 8pm. As Atlanta has rushed into tomorrow, Peachtree's rich history has been disappearing. Produced with financial support from GPTV members, "Peachtree Street: Take Another Look" brings the past alive again through the stories of the people who have lived and worked along Peachtree. Through these personal recollections, archival footage and photos, and video of what remains of Peachtree's long history, "Peachtree Street: Take Another Look" reveals the stories of Atlanta's most famous thoroughfare: the Civil War, grand mansions and estates, movie palaces and streetcars, parades and protests, tragedies and triumphs, demolition and renaissance. www.gpb.org/gptv

Nearly all the sites were nominated for inclusion in the report as a result of a national campaign conducted last fall. For more information, visit www.civilwar.org/topten2002/atlanta2002.htm
