HPF/CLG GRANT APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE
Applications for FFY 2002 Historic Preservation Fund (HPF) grants were mailed to Certified Local Governments (CLGs), Main Street directors, local preservation nonprofits, and historic preservation commissions last week. The deadline is March 1. For additional information, contact Cherie Blizzard at 404-651-5181.

GEORGIA HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSIONS DIRECTORY TO BE UPDATED
The Public Service and Outreach Office of UGA's School of Environmental Design is updating the directory of historic preservation commissions in Georgia. Please send them an accurate list of members of your commission, including names and addresses. The list should also include the name and address of any commission staff as well as the Main Street/Better Hometown Manager (if applicable). 2002 NATIONAL HISTORY DAY WORKSHOP IN ATLANTA
The Georgia Humanities Council and National History Day announce the National History Day Summer Institute, "We Shall Overcome: 100 Years of the Civil Rights Movement", which will be held in Atlanta, July 20-27, 2002. Thirty secondary school teachers or media specialists from across the country will explore strategies for teaching the Civil Rights Movement, including interpreting sites, analyzing music and documents, and conducting oral histories. Applications

The National Council on Public History (NCPH) invites proposals for panels, roundtables, posters, workshops, and papers for the 2003 annual meeting: "Beyond Boundaries: Diversity, Identity, and Public History."
