NATIONAL TRUST EVENTS UPDATE:
EDUCATIONAL SESSION PROPOSALS
Proposals for educational sessions at the 2001 National Preservation Conference are now being accepted. The conference will take place October 1621, 2001 in Providence, RI. The proposal deadline is January 15, 2001.
2001 LIST OF AMERICA'S 11 MOST ENDANGERED HISTORIC PLACES
The National Trust for Historic Preservation is accepting nominations for its 2001
list of America's 11 Most Endangered Historic Places. Every year, the National
Trust spotlights 11 notable historic places threatened by neglect, deterioration,
lack of maintenance, insufficient funds, inappropriate development or insensitive
public
policy.

The nomination deadline is January 19, 2001. The list will be announced June
25, 2001.
NATIONAL PRESERVATION AWARDS
Nominations are now open for the 2001 National Preservation Awards sponsored by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Those who have been involved in an outstanding preservation project completed in the past three years, or those who know of a company, organization or individual who has helped save a part of America's local or national heritage, are encouraged to submit a nomination. For more information go to http://www.nthp.org/main/frontline/pr_wantedFull.htm The nomination deadline for the National Trust/HUD Secretary's Award and the Trustees' Awards for Organizational Excellence, Public Policy, and Stewardship of Historic Sites is March 1, 2001. Nominations for National Preservation Honor Awards must be submitted by May 1, 2001.
PRESERVATION LEADERSHIP TRAINING
Preservation Leadership Training (PLT) is an intensive one-week experience tailored to the needs of state and local preservation organizations. PLT provides participatory learning experiences in leadership and organizational development techniques, stimulating educational sessions, and up-to-the-minute information on current preservation practices, issues, and action strategies.
Those in positions to influence preservation efforts in their communities, including staff and board members of preservation organizations, should attend.
The next PLT session will take place in Harrodsburg, KY, June 2-9, 2001. For more information, contact the National Trust for Historic Preservation (NTHP) at 202/ 588-6067, 843/ 722-8552 or visit their website at plt@nthp.org. The application deadline is March 30, 2001.
