The man confessed to having placed the snares, and photographic evidence of two bears being caught in the snares was located during the search warrant. No evidence of any wildlife being killed was found. One of the bears caught in the snare is believed to have escaped before the snare was checked by the suspect, and Rangers found a bear cub caught in the snare and were able to release the cub unharmed.
