NAAEE 40th Annual Conference
The North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) 40th anniversary conference will held October 12-15, 2011 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Register by August 11 to take advantage of discounted rates.
Fall 2011 Online EE Courses
The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Fall 2011 online EE courses have been announced. Courses may be taken for graduate credits, undergraduate credits, or as a 0 credit workshop. The registration deadline is August 17, 2011.

The Georgia Science Teachers Association is looking for great instructional ideas to share at its conference in February 2012. All presentation proposals must be submitted electronically by September 1, 2011.
GA Association of Marine Educators Seeking Conference Proposals
The Georgia Association of Marine Educators and the South Carolina Marine Educators Association are hosting a joint conference, "Celebrating Our Shared Shoreline" on Skidaway Island, October 21-23, 2011. Proposals are due by September 15, 2011.

U.S. House Committee Votes to Eliminate EPA EE Funding
On July 12, 2011, the U.S. House Appropriations Committee cited a "lack of demonstrated results" and voted to eliminate funding for EPA's environmental education programs along with other reductions in spending. The full U.S. House of Representatives will debate and vote on the bill before it goes to the Senate.

Bi-partisan No Child Left Inside Act Reintroduced in Congress
On July 14, 2011, Senators Jack Reed (D-RI) and Mark Kirk (R-IL) and Congressman John Sarbanes (D-MD) introduced the bi-partisan No Child Left Inside Act of 2011 into the 112th Congress. As in the past, many of their Congressional colleagues joined them in co-sponsoring this historic legislation.
