High Performance Healthy Schools Summit
During this summit, November 3-4, 2011 in Atlanta, GA, national and regional leaders in green building, energy efficiency and education will discuss topics including water efficiency, energy efficiency, recycling, indoor air quality, environmental curriculum and green cleaning. Onsite registration will be available.

Seeking Educators to Test Green Classroom Professional Program
PreK-12 educators who earn a Green Classroom Professional (GCP) certificate, will gain knowledge on maintaining a healthier and sustainable classroom. PreK12 educators are invited to participate in an online beta test of the program, November 721, 2011. Participation will require at least three hours. The first 150 participants will be able to earn the GCP certificate for free.

Update on the No Child Left Inside Act
The No Child Left Inside (NCLI) Act of 2011 was introduced in the 112th Congress on July 14, 2011. On October 21, 2011, the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions approved key elements of the Act as part of its reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act.
National Green Ribbon Schools Program Update
The U.S. Department of Education has released more details about its new Green Ribbon Schools recognition program. The deadline for nominee submissions is scheduled to be announced in early 2012. The program anticipates recognizing as many as 50 schools by the end of the 2011-12 school year.

Georgia Conference on Children's Literature: Call for Presenters If you have programs, activities, research, or ideas about nature/environment themed children's literature to share, please consider presenting at the 43rd Annual Conference on Children's Literature in Athens, GA on March 23-24, 2012. Proposals are due December 2, 2011.
Southern NSTA Regional Conference: Call for Proposals The Georgia Science Teachers Association is partnering with the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) to host an NSTA area conference November 1-3, 2012 in Atlanta. Proposals for sessions must be submitted by January 15, 2012.
