National Gardening Association Seeks Grant Partners
The National Gardening Association (NGA) is applying for a grant from the Food and Nutrition Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture to fund a People's Garden School Pilot Program. As part of the proposal, the NGA is seeking school districts to serve as partners in the study. Interest survey due by September 24, 2010.

National Wildlife Federation (NWF) has issued a new report revealing how America's addiction to time indoors affects our physical and mental health and explores how regular, unstructured outdoor play can boost the health of a child's mind, body, and spirit.

$1,000 Scholarships for 2011 Monarchs in Mexico Trips
Monarchs Across Georgia, a committee of the Environmental Education Alliance (EEA) of Georgia, is offering two $1,000 scholarships to Georgia educators (formal or informal) to travel to the monarch butterfly overwintering sites in Mexico in February 2011. Applications are due October 15, 2010.

Webinar: Environmental Literacy and Tipping Points
This Webinar organized by the American Institute of Biological Sciences will be held September 28, 2010 from 2:30-3:30 pm EDT. Registration is on a first come first-serve basis. Participants will hear from the authors of the 2009 NSF report "Transitions and Tipping Points in Complex Environmental Systems" who will provide an introduction to the report and its recommendations specific to environmental literacy.
