HB 551 by Representative Parrish of the 158th CANDLER COUNTY: This bill repeals an act that created a board of elections and registration for Candler County.
HB 553 by Representative Reeves of the 34th COBB COUNTY: This bill changes the salary of the chief deputy clerk to $107,419.30. It also changes the salary of the clerk of the State Court of Cobb County to $119,354.43. It also creates the position of executive assistant to the clerk of the State Court of Cobb County and sets the salary for that position to $62,159.19.
HB 556 by Representative Frye of the 118th CLARKE COUNTY: This bill provides the superintendent of the merged Athens/Clarke County School System with the authority to make certain purchases. It also provides for performance bonds related to certain construction projects and provides for approval of certain purchases by the board of education. It also allows the board of education to modify maximum expenditure amounts.
HB 557 by Representative Stovall of the 74th CLAYTON COUNTY: This bill changes the compensation of the judge of the probate court of Clayton County.
HB 558 by Representative Stovall of the 74th CLAYTON COUNTY: This bill changes the sheriff's salary of Clayton County to $143,933.
HB 559 by Representative Knight of the 130th LAMAR COUNTY: This bill creates the Lamar County Public Facilities Authority.
SB 205 by Senator Walker III of the 20th CITY OF PERRY: This bill changes the requirements for appointment to the Perry Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Authority.
PURSUANT TO ARTICLE VII, SECTION II, PARAGRAPH IV OF THE STATE CONSTITUTION, THE FOLLOWING LOCAL BILLS RELATING TO HOMESTEAD
EXEMPTIONS REQUIRE A TWO-THIRDS ROLL-CALL VOTE FOR PASSAGE:
HB 547 by Representative Collins of the 68th CITY OF VILLA RICA: This bill amends Act No. 6 approved on February 20, 2017, which provided for a homestead exemption from the City of Villa Rica's ad valorem taxes. The bill changes the date of the referendum from March 2017 to the first Monday in November 2017.
SB 143 by Senator Jones of the 10th DEKALB COUNTY: This bill modifies the time limit on a homestead exemption from certain DeKalb County taxes. It states the exemption granted is only applicable to taxable years 2007 to 2021.
