HB 863 by Representative Strickland of the 111th HENRY COUNTY: A Bill to provide a new charter for the City of Stockbridge, so as to revise the manner of filling vacancies of the governing authority.
HB 867 by Representative Taylor of the 173rd THOMAS COUNTY: A Bill to authorize the City of Thomasville to levy a hotel/motel tax.
HB 880 by Representative Spencer of the 180th CAMDEN COUNTY: A Bill to provide a new charter for the City of St. Mary's, so as to provide for the manner of election of the mayor and council.
PURSUANT TO ARTICLE VII, SECTION II, PARAGRAPH IV OF THE STATE CONSTITUTION, THE FOLLOWING LOCAL BILLS RELATING TO HOMESTEAD
EXEMPTIONS REQUIRE A TWO-THIRDS ROLL-CALL VOTE FOR PASSAGE:
HB 830 by Representative Glanton of the 75th CLAYTON COUNTY: A Bill to provide a homestead exemption from the City of Jonesboro ad valorem taxes for city purposes, to enact a new provision to restate the amount of the homestead exemption for the assessed value of the homestead for residents of the city.
HB 857 by Representative Fleming of the 121st MCDUFFIE COUNTY: A Bill to provide a homestead exemption from McDuffie County school district ad valorem taxes for educational purposes in the amount of half the assessed value of the homestead for residents of that school district who are 70 years of age or older and in the full amount of the assessed value of the homestead for residents of that school district who are 75 years of age or older.
