Day

The House will reconvene for its 2nd Legislative Day on Tuesday, January 14th at 10:00 a.m. No bills / resolutions are expected to be debated on the floor.

Today on the Floor
Speaker David Ralston (7th) gaveled the House of Representatives in to the 2020 Session at 10:00 this morning. Representative Mack Jackson (128th) gave the invocation as Chaplain of the Day. Timothy Miller of Augusta sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" and "God Bless America". Speaker Ralston also welcomed two new members to the House of Representatives: Representative Philip Singleton (71st) and Representative Bill Yearta (152nd).
Speaker Ralston delivered a morning order to pause and remember the Honorable Jay Powell and his contributions to the House and the state through his public service.
House Resolution 878 was approved for a joint session of the General Assembly on Thursday, January 16th at 11:00 a.m. to receive the State of the State address from Governor Brian Kemp.
The first adjournment resolution, HR 879, set the calendar through Legislative Day 14.
