Bill Summary: HB 43, the Amended Fiscal Year 2017 budget, recognizes $606.2 million in additional revenue or 2.5 percent over the original Fiscal Year 2017 budget. This brings the total appropriation for Amended FY 2017 to $24.3 billion. HB 91 Grady County; board of commissioners; change compensation
Bill Summary: This bill changes the compensation of the Grady County Board of Commissioners. The bill removes the board's authority to fix the salary of the chairperson. The chairperson of the board shall receive 17 percent of the Grady County Superior Court Clerk's base salary. The other members of the board shall receive 12 percent of the Grady County Superior Court Clerk's base salary, unless they are designated as a certified county commissioner. A certified county commissioner will receive 14 percent of the Grady County Superior Court Clerk's base salary.

Jefferson County Hospital Authority; ad valorem tax; provide for a nonbinding advisory referendum
Bill Summary: This bill provides for a nonbinding advisory referendum to determine if the electors of Jefferson County want the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners to levy an ad valorem tax to pay for the Jefferson County Hospital Authority's services and facilities and to retire hospital debt.

HB 38 Motor vehicles; issuance of a noncommercial Class C and Class M driver's license; provide
Bill Summary: House Bill 38 clarifies the law as it relates to the class of driver's license required for three-wheel motor vehicles. It provides that operators of three-wheel motor vehicles, which are controlled by a steering wheel rather than handlebars, are required to obtain a standard Class C license and not a Class M (motorcycle) license.

Bill Summary: House Bill 58 updates the reference date in Georgia Code to the federal regulations regarding the safe operation of motor carriers and commercial motor vehicles. Current law refers to those federal regulations in place as of January 1, 2016. This bill will reference those in force as of January 1, 2017.
