HR 415 - Government of Turkey; urge to grant the Ecumenical Patriarch international recognition
- BILL SUMMARY: Urges the Government of Turkey to uphold and safeguard religious and human rights without comprise; cease its discrimination of the Ecumenical Patriarchate (His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew serves as the spiritual leader and representative worldwide voice of some 300 million Orthodox Christians throughout the world); grant the Ecumenical Patriarch appropriate international recognition, ecclesiastic succession, and the right to train clergy of all nationalities; and respect the property rights and human rights of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. Mike Cheokas of the 134th - House Committee: Human Relations & Aging - House Committee Passed: 3/28/2007 - Rule: Open
