Wednesday on the Floor:

Today the House convened at 10:00am for legislative business. Speaker Pro Tem Mark Burkhalter (R-Duluth) introduced the Chaplin for the Day, Jim Perdue, who is also well known as the son of Governor Sonny Perdue. Mr. Perdue spoke to and led the Assembly in devotion. Rep. Amos Amerson (R-Dahlonega) introduced the Doctor of the Day, Dr. Westmoreland.

Bills Passed: H.B. 95 Code of Georgia; corrections - presented to the Rules Committee by Rep. Wendell Willard (R-Sandy Springs); this bill intends to correct any grammar or technical changes to the Georgia Code, and not to make any substantive changes of law to the Code - Bill passed: 164 yeas: 0 nays

H.R. 47 A resolution to rename the Legislative Office Building, the Paul D. Coverdell Legislative Office Building. This resolution was introduced and sponsored and presented by Majority Leader Rep. Jerry Keen (R-St. Simons). - 4 amendments were offered. 1 amendment was withdrawn. 3 amendments failed - Bill passed: 121 yeas: 47 nays
