House Study Committee on Funding for the Arts to Hold Meeting at State Capitol

ATLANTA State Representative Joe Wilkinson (R-Sandy Springs) has announced that the House Study Committee on Funding for the Arts will hold its second meeting on Wednesday, November 15, 2006.

The meeting is scheduled to take place at the Georgia State Capitol in Room 606 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building. It will begin at 10:00 AM and end at approximately 4:00 PM. The public is encouraged to attend to share their comments with the committee.
The House Study Committee on Funding for the Arts was created through House Resolution 1921 during the 2006 Legislative Session. The committee is chaired by Representative Joe Wilkinson. Kathy Ashe, Mark Butler, Brooks Coleman, and Tom Rice were selected as committee members. The committee will study art history and preservation in Georgia, art history education in Georgia schools, public funding of the arts, and the impact of arts on tourism in Georgia.
