House Study Committee on Market Demand Skills in High Schools to Meet at State Capitol
ATLANTA State Representative Fran Millar (R-Dunwoody) has announced that the House Study Committee on Market Demand Skills in High Schools will hold its second meeting on October 10, 2006. The meeting will be held in the Appropriations Room341 of the State Capitol. It is scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM.

The House Study Committee on Market Demand Skills in High Schools was created through the passage of House Resolution 1048, passed during the 2006 Legislative Session. Representative Fran Millar serves as Chairman of the committee; Representatives Roger Williams, Ed Lindsey, Bob Holmes and Melvin Everson were appointed as members.
Up for discussion during the meeting will be increasing academic rigor while offering vocational opportunities and the approach by the state of South Carolina in implementing their legislation addressing the issue of Market Skills.
The intent of this meeting is to provide information that will be helpful in structuring future legislation and policies to implement in Georgia's school systems. "Our children are our future and now is the time to provide them with the tools to succeed in the working world that awaits them," remarked Representative Millar.
