Senator Balfour and Representative Erhart Call on Cox and Taylor for Resignation of Ethics Member
ATLANTA Yesterday, the Rules chairmen of the State House and Senate called on Secretary of State Cathy Cox and Lt. Governor Mark Taylor for the resignation of State Ethics Board Member David Moskowitz, a Taylor appointee to the board.

"David Moskowitz has shown that he is a partisan rather than an impartial member of the Ethics Commission Board," Senator Don Balfour (RSnellville) said. "How can he have any public trust or credibility in passing judgment in partisan disputes before the commission?"

On October 7, 2005, Moskowitz faxed a copy of the donors for the 2005 Governor's Dinner to Bobby Kahn, former Chief of Staff to Governor Roy Barnes and current chairman of the Georgia Democratic Party. The caveat is he sent the fax to Kahn's old fax number which sits in the office of the current Governor. The text of the fax reads, "Here's your program. Read it and vomit."

us

information. If so, were the two colluding together? Does this

collaboration extend to cases before the State Ethics Commission?"

Representative Earl Erhart (R-Powder Springs) asked. "We call on the

Secretary of State and the Lieutenant Governor to urge Moskowitz to

resign from the Ethics Commission because he has caught red-handed

colluding with the Democratic Party Chairman."

The Rules Chairmen jointly signed a letter to Cathy Cox and Mark Taylor and delivered it to the respective offices today.

This press conference was the first one to be streamed live via the internet, and can be viewed by going to the Georgia House of Representatives Website .
