BROWN TAPPED AS VICE CHAIR OF HOUSE BUDGET

WRITING COMMITTEE

Atlanta State Representative Jeff Brown (R-LaGrange) has been appointed Vice Chair of the Appropriations Committee by the Committee on Assignments formed by House Speaker Glenn Richardson (R-Dallas).
Rep. Brown will be responsible for overseeing spending and the policy and priorities of the state's various health agencies and departments. Also, all fiscal related matters must originate in the House, making it the first stop for the Governor's proposed budget as it relates to health care.
"I have always been fiscally conservative and will work to ensure that the spending priorities adopted are the best for a healthy Georgia," Rep. Brown said. "I am very humbled by my appointment and look forward to working with other committee members."
"I have a lot of faith in Representative Brown to lead by example and to make the tough decisions when it comes to steering the course of Georgia's future," said House Speaker Glenn Richardson (R-Dallas). "He has many years of faithful service to the state and I have every confidence in his ability to represent the interests of all Georgians."
Rep. Brown was first elected in 1994. ***
