Parham Announces Funding for Local Improvement Projects

Atlanta Representative Bobby Parham (D-Milledgeville) announced the procurement of more than $600,000 for local improvement projects within Baldwin County. The money will come in the form of two Community Development Block Grants and will be administered through the State Department of Community Affairs.

The first grant, in the amount of $500,000, was awarded to Baldwin County and is earmarked for street improvement, and street drainage improvement projects.

The City of Milledgeville is the recipient of the second grant, which totals $111,000. This money will also be used to fund city street drainage improvement.

"I would like to thank the Governor, and everyone else involved in securing this funding," said Rep. Parham. "Every little bit helps during these tight fiscal times, and I'm glad we could make this happen."

"I'm sure our city and county officials will put this money to good use."

Rep. Parham is Chairman of the House Motor Vehicles Committee. He also serves on the budget writing Sub Committee within the House Appropriations Committee, as well as the House Rules Committee.
