Greene Announces Funding for Local Improvement Projects
Atlanta Representative Gerald Greene (D-Cuthbert) announces the procurement of almost $900,000 for local improvement projects for Clay County and the city of Fort Gaines. The money will come in the form of three Community Development Block Grants and will be administered through the State Department of Community Affairs.
The grant going to Clay County is in the amount of $383,886 and the grant going to the city of Fort Gaines is in the amount of $500,000. Both of these grants will be used for water improvements proposed by the community.
"I would like to thank the Governor, and everyone else involved in securing this funding," said Rep. Greene. "Every little bit helps during these tight fiscal times, and I'm glad we could make this happen."
"I'm sure our city and county officials will put this money to good use."
Rep. Greene is Chairman of the House State Institution and Property Committee. He also serves on the budget writing Appropriations Committee, as well as the Banks and Banking, Inter-state Cooperation and Administrative Services committees.
