Heard To Hold Town Hall Meetings Urges Citizens to Attend, Discuss Issues

Atlanta During the month of July, Representative Keith Heard (D-Athens), will be holding two town hall meetings with the citizens of his House district.
The first meeting will occur between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, 2004, in the Mariam Moore Service Center located at 410 McKinley Drive in Athens.
The second will be held between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m on Tuesday, July 27th in the Athens-Clarke County Library located at 2025 Baxter Street in Athens.
During the meeting, Rep. Heard will provide a brief slideshow which recaps the 2004 legislative session, and then open the meeting up to discuss the issues of concern to the citizens of the new 114th district, which is formerly the 75th legislative district.
"I always enjoy discussing the everyday issues that are most important to my constituents," said Rep. Heard. "An informed government is an effective government, and so I invite all concerned citizens to attend these town hall meetings."
Rep. Heard, a lawmaker since 1992, is a member of the Insurance Committee and Ways and Means Committee as well as being a member of the Appropriations Committee and Chairman of the Intra-Governmental Coordination Committee.
