Sims Secures more than $8Million for Local Projects
AtlantaRepresentative Chuck Sims, D-Douglas secures more than $8Million for local projects in the mid-year budget, which is a revised spending plan for the current fiscal year that ends June 30, 2004.
The following road projects for Atkinson County include:

Douglas Municipal Airport in Coffee County received $483,000 in federal and state funds. Atkinson County received $113,026.37 in LARP, and $395,897.99 in state aid. Coffee County received $219,380.89 in LARP and $481,405.33 in state aid. Atkinson County received $250,912.00 in Homestead Grants. Coffee County received $1,536,028.00 in Homestead Grants. "I am glad to have been a part of helping secure this needed funding for Atkinson and Coffee counties. It was a tight budget year but our counties fared well considering the revenue shortfall we faced this session," said Rep. Sims. "I would like to thank all of those involved in the process for their hard work."
The monies are appropriated in the adjusted spending plan for the current fiscal year.
