Fludd Announces Love T. Nolan Elementary School Selected for HP Technology for Teaching Grant

Atlanta - State Representative Virgil Fludd (D-Fayetteville) announces that an HP Technology for Teaching grant valued at $30,000 has been awarded to Love T. Nolan Elementary School. As a result of this award, the five teachers who submitted the grant proposal will each receive:

* an HP digital projector * an HP Tablet PC * a Tablet PC case * a $500 stipend * help desk services for technical support * professional development * an opportunity to submit a proposal to HP for an extension grant in 2005

"Bringing this technology into the classroom will improve the learning environment for students and make the teachers' jobs easier," said Rep. Fludd. "The teachers who submitted the grant deserve our thanks and I was happy to assist with their efforts."

The teaching team includes: Ms. Jennifer Koss - 2nd Grade, Ms. Robin Cobbs - Pre K, Ms. Denise Fisher - 1st Grade, Ms. Heavenly Montgomery - 3rd Grade, and Mr. Wubesht Moges Talented and Gifted.

"We are thrilled that this school has been awarded an HP Technology for Teaching grant and look forward to developing local relationships that will allow them to maximize the use of this technology and place them in a position to achieve great success," said Kathy Jackson, Southeast public affairs manager, HP.

Ms. Chandra Lemons is the Principal at Love T. Nolan, located at 2725 Creel Road, College Park, GA 30349. Rep. Fludd serves on the Administrative Services, Banks & Banking, Education, and Natural Resources & Environment Committees. He represents parts of south Fulton and north Fayette Counties.
