Stephens helps secure over $44 Million for Local Projects

AtlantaRep. Mickey Stephens, D-Savannah, has announced more than $44 million in funding for local projects including Battlefield Park, Container Berth Eight at the Port of Savannah, Tomo Chi Chi Rd., and several projects at Savannah State University.
The monies are appropriated in the spending plan for fiscal year 2005.
Savannah State University received $4 million for education and another $750,000 for the completion of Hill Hall at the university.
Battlefield Park in Savannah received $6 million.
Container Berth Eight at the Port of Savannah received $28 million to aid in the expansion of the facility. The CB8 is already the largest single terminal container facility on the coast from Maine to Texas. After the expansions are complete it will increase its container capacity by 20%.
Tomo Chi Chi Rd. in Savannah received $6 million for improvements.
"I'm glad that I could help secure money for our district that will improve Savannah," Stephens said.
