Maddox Helps Henry County

AtlantaState Representative George Maddox, D-District 59, post 2, announces funding dedicated for projects in Henry County which he represents. The monies are appropriated in the spending plan for the 05 fiscal year which begins July 1st.
$46.6 million was earmarked for road and bridge improvement projects in the county and $1 million was tabbed for the daily operations of a commuter-rail link between Atlanta and Lovejoy.
Rep. Maddox also announces his support this past session for local legislation that will freeze local property taxes in Henry County.
"This was a very successful session for Henry County and I was glad to of helped secure this valuable funding. It will benefit Henry County citizens by providing them with another option to get into the city of Atlanta and improving th roads they travel on everyday," said Maddox. "We also provided the home owners of Henry County with a freeze on property taxes."
Rep. Maddox, a lawmaker since 1996, chairs the MARTOC Committee which oversees MARTA and serves on the Appropriations, Insurance and Industrial Relations committees.
