Purcell Helps Secure Funding Effingham Campus Could Complete Construction
Atlanta State Rep. Ann Purcell, (D-Rincon), Chairwoman of the Higher Education Sub-
Committee, announces that $1.9 million has been secured for the Effingham Campus of
Savannah Tech in the House's amended fiscal 04 budget, which is a revised spending plan for the current fiscal year that ends June 30th.
The funding is on top of $2 million that was approved last year and will go towards completing construction.
"This tech school is very important to our community and provides many with a quality education," said Purcell. "Helping them complete construction will provide a great learning environment and I will be working to make sure it remains intact as the spending bill makes it's way through the legislative process."
The amended 04 budget, which has now been passed by the House of Representatives, is now in the Senate awaiting approval.
Besides chairing the Higher Education Sub-committee, Rep. Purcell chairs the Interstate Cooperation Committee and serves on the Appropriations, Economic Development and Tourism and Agriculture and Consumer Affairs committees
